Today’s labour market is still overcrowded. Recent figures from the United States show that for one job seeker, there are 2 vacancies, figures that run similarly to the European labour market. Yet there are more than 13 million freelancers immediately available in Europe.
So, the big question is: “how do I reach them in an easy, fast and accessible way?”
The Belgian Linkus, founded in 2020 by 3 entrepreneurs in the interim world, one of them being Vincent Lanckmans, is a new platform that automatically matches freelancers with suitable vacancies based on skills.
Our CEO Wim Van Roy explains: “Our tool connects freelancers in the digital, marketing and sales sector with companies. For this purpose, we have developed a text-based software based on artificial intelligence that can read and understand job ads and CVs in different languages. This software allows us, based on a CV along one side and a job description along the other, to estimate how well a freelancer fits a particular vacancy.”
The platform was founded out of frustration with the time-consuming and costly process of searching for the right freelancer. Wim explains “many companies do not get their vacatures filled at short notice or find it very difficult. Linkus provides an answer to that by doing instant job matching between a freelancer and a vacancy”. Indeed, European research has shown that there are no less than 13 million freelancers available in Europe. The largest group, at 30.9 per cent, is in the fields of communication, marketing and sales. This is therefore where the expertise of Linkus’ founders lies.
